If you have a normal printer, you might find it more difficult to print an A4 piece pf paper, than of printing images on envelopes, which obviously do not have the same size as an A4 or an A3 sheet of paper. This can be done easily and in a few simple steps. Let’s see them.

First of all, select the image you want to print on the envelope or simply select a color if you want to make the envelope blue or yellow or green. You can do this when you are in Word or in other Word editor. There are some text editors or image editors, which let you select the size of the envelope directly in the software. For those who don’t use these specialised equipments, I offer you another solution. Set the printer to print only within a certain area, which is normally smaller than of a piece of paper.

Place the envelope in the printer tray and adjust it as much as you can. You must know that the image you want to print is going to need to be positioned somewhere in the middle of the envelope, or if it is a tile image, then it will be viewed on the entire envelope. You might want to calibrate the envelope and if you don’t succeed it for the first time, you can repeat the operation with another envelope this time, unfortunately. This is done only once, until you can realise where exactly the image will be printed on the envelope.

If you use OpenOffice, click Insert, then Envelope to make the software aware that now the envelope is introduced into the printer. Go to the “Format” tab and select the size of the envelope. You have to measure it before you introduce in into the printer. Return to the main menu and select Print. If you are using Microsoft Word, which is more popular for Windows users, you have to place the envelope in the printer tray and adjust the brackets, because this will be the main operation that will lead to the success of the printing process. In a Word document, click on Tools and then Letters and Mailings. Then click on Envelopes and Labels and select Envelope and write the size of the envelope you want to print. Click Print to finish the operation.

It is easy to print anything you want. The two programs presented earlier have more features than printing envelopes. Just do a quick research and take notes from the manufacturer of your operating system, by accessing the Help section, everytime you want to learn more about the capabilities of the system.11
